Champions League - Tuesday September 29th

A couple of games called my attention from Tuesday's matches.

Inter -½ @ 1.83 (-120) 2 UNITS

On the earliest game Internazionale will play at cold Russia to face Rubin Kazan, the Russian champs. Even though Inter it's a stronger team by all means and after drawing at home against Barcelona, they need to recover the 2 pts they lost at home with a win as visitors, and this is the best chance they have.

Rubin Kazan is struggling on their domestic duties and already started off the wrong foot on the Champions League. Kazan's coach is already worried about the 2 competitions, especially the effect that the poor form on their league will have on the European competition. It will be an exciting ride, but short one at the end for the Russians.

Rubin Kazan is winless in their last 3 games, and Inter comes from a loss at Sampdoria. One of them will bounce back and the Italian side will be the one with a smile after the 90 minutes. A stronger and more experienced team will prevail.

Standard Liege +½ @ 1.77 (-130) 1 UNIT

After Van Gaal's departure to Munich the AZ hasn't been the same. Koeman's side is weak and is in a lot of truble in both competitions. Standard Liege faced Arsenal on matchday 1 and after a 2-0 lead, Arsenal came back and won 3-2...but c'mon Arsenal is one fo the top 5 teams in the competition. Basically, AZ is a mess and Standard Liege has enough material to outclass AZ and get at least 1 point.

English Premier League - August 15th-16th

We are back!

Once the off season is over and the top leagues are kicking off we are back trying to tip you with the best betting advices possible.

English Premier League is kicking off Saturday and there are a couple of games that deserve a look.

Fulham PK @ EVEN [2 UNITS]

Portsmouth-Fulham UNDER 2.5 @1.63 (-160) [2 UNITS]

Pompey was supposed to have a new owner on Sulaiman Al Fahim's, now that's questionable. Kranjcar, the skillful winger hasn't been able to sign a new deal and he has said that he will leave Pompey at the end of this season. Crouch and Defoe left to Spurs, Nugent is having personal issues, Finnan is injured and Vanden Borre is waiting for international clearing, leaving just new signing Piquionne available to make his debut on the EPL.

Fulham has struggled on their Premier League debut for the last 5 years, and have lost the last 3 but they are unbeaten on their last 3 visits to Fratton Park. Fulham had a great 2008-09 season finishing 7th, their top finish ever and will play European cup this year. The only injury woe for them is Diomansy Kamara, but the rest of the team is fit to play.

A low scoring game with a draw or Fulham victory here.

Wolves PK @1.83 (-120) [1 UNIT]

In this new season the new promoted Wolverhampton will host the Hammers, a team full of injuries with only 1 fit striker on Carlton Cole. Boa Morte and Behrami are long-term absentees. Wolves side has a couple of doubtful players with injuries on international duties.

Wolves were a really strong side on the Championship and despite this being a whole new different level, the Wolves could give the 1st surprise of the new season.

Best of luck!

UEFA Cup - March 12th

Champions League was really good for us, having 4 winners and 1 loss and a profit of 5 Units in these 2 days and taking the overall record to 11W-7L-3P and a profit of 7.1 units.

A few games on UEFA Cup today and some interesting views...let's get to work!

Hamburg -½ @ 1.80 (-125) [2 UNITS]

Hamburg receives the tough Turkish side of Galatasaray. The Turkish go to Nordbank Arena after a a thrilling 4-3 home win against Bordeaux, and Hamburg is walking firm and steady in the UEFA competition, losing only 1 game in group stages, against Ajax in Amsterdam Arena. Galatasaray will miss the Czech international Milan Baros, their top scorer this season in UEFA, and also Mehmet Topal, Servet Cetin, and Emre Gungot. Hamburg's only injury is Guy Demel, who is still questionable. Hamburg will prevail in this game thanks to their home field advantage and the key players Galatasaray is missing. Will be a close game, but the home side will celebrate after 90 minutes.

Werder Bremen - St. Etienne OVER 2½ @ 1.74 (-135) [2 UNITS]

Two attack-minded teams get on the field today and this game has written "lots of goals" all over it. Both teams only t
hink about winning games and scoring games and this will be an offensive showdown. St/ Etienne is great in counter attack and Werder conceeds many goals, but surely they can score plenty too.

Werder Bremen has had
a really dissapointing Bundesliga season and their hopes in the UEFA cup are high, cause is their only chance to play Champions League next season. They'll attack since minute 1 and will leave spaces on defense that St Etienne in players like Gomis and Ilan will take advantage of it, as they are a really good couple.

2 Attack-minded teams + shaky defenses = Over 2½ = $$

Zenit St Petersburg +½ @ 1.63 (-160) [2 UNITS]

The defending UEFA and Super Cup champions travel to Italy to face Udinese in a thrilling match where the visitors are planning to continue their successful run in this competition.

Aside from Arshavin's departure, Zenit keep the same team. They even got the high paid Portuguese prospect Dany, and a boost in midfield with Semshov and Hungarian Huszti. Udinese is slowly coming back lately, as they totally lost the pace at some point this year, remaining winningless for 11 games. They defeated Juve and got a point from Roma last weekend.

Udinese don't seem as a reliable team right now, Zenit eliminated Stuttgart on the previous round despite being in the domestic offseason. Zenit will prevail in this game as their experience in these kind of matches it's really important.

Manchester City -1 @ 1.87 (-115) [2 UNITS]

Manchester City has been an inconsistent team all season long, but has shown better football in UEFA cup, especially at home. They already got rid of 2 other Danish teams (Midtjylland and FC Copenhag
en) in this competition and at home they have won 3 out of 4 games, PSG was the only team that could get a draw from them.

Aalborg played UCL in the same group with Man U, Villarreal and Celtic, and actually they managed to edge Celtic out for the spot in UEFA Cup. Aalborg totally outplayed Deportivo in the previous round giving them a 6-1 combined score.

Definately Man City is the team called to perform, to win and advance. Their class is in no discussion against Aalborg. With not much to play for in the Premier League, Man City will concentrate in this competition and will be comfortable taking a 2 goal lead to their trip to Denmark.

UCL - March 11th

Nice work yesterday on Bayern, was too easy to be true! 8W-6L-3P for a 4.1 profit.

Today there are some plays that deserve a bet.

Manchester United -½ @ 1.65 (-155) [2 UNITS]

The "Red Devils" are the best team in the competition, no doubt. After watching the 1st legs where all the English teams got positive results agains the Italians, and of course Man U match at San Siro, I'm really positive this time Man U will get the win, not easily, but won't be really hard neither. Inter has been a really irregular team that has got results based on luck more than their own capacity.

Serious injuries in Inter central defense is the main worry for Mourinho, where Chivu, Materazzi and Burdisso are out of the game; Samuel is still questionable. No key injuries on Man U side.

Porto - Atletico Madrid OVER 2½ 1.91 (-110) [2 UNITS]

Interesting match here, where 2 teams far from favorite face in Portugal for the 2nd leg. 1st match was a 2-2 draw, and Atletico goes to Portugal with the obligation to score. 2nd legs usually are really interesting matches where most of the teams just care about playing some football and forget about strategies, usually 2nd legs are open games with more offense than defense. This will be that case (the odds have moved on our side).

Porto is missing several defensive players and Atletico has shown during the last matches that their a different team, and they can score in any play. Once a team scores, the game will be a really nice show, with a lot of opportunities and lots of goals :) and let's remember the GK's are not their stenght.

I also have a lean to the Atletico Madrid +½ @ 1.8 (-125) and let's bet 1 Unit on this. Atletico Madrid has improved a lot lately in a way more competitive league than the Portuguese. Beating Barcelona and getting a point from Bernabeu's having way more chances is speaking really good from them. They need to score and have enough potential to do so and get the result.

Barcelona-Lyon OVER 2½ @ 1.71 (-140) [2 UNITS]

Lyon needs to score at least one and Barcelona want to close the deal and advance. Barcelona's defensive woes are present as well as their powerful attack. Lyon has played really good away this UCL season, scoring in all those matches in Munich, Fiorentina and Bucarest. Definately Barcelona's match will be their thoughest test so far but the "Cules" defense is really weak, especially missing Puyol and Abidal. Mensah will miss the game for Lyon.
Open game with lots of chances, Barcelona will prevail and will score at least 2 goals. Lyon will score at least once and I can see a 3-1 Barcelona win.

Best of luck!

Champions League - March 10th

Record Stands at 7W-6L-3P for a 2.1 profit.

UCL is ready for the 2nd legs. Few interesting matches today that deserves attention.

Just as a reminder here are the 1st leg results:

Real Madrid 0 - Liverpool 1
Sporting Club 0 -Bayern Munich 5
Chelsea 1 - Juventus 0
Villarreal 1 - Panathinaikos 1

Bayern Munich -½ @ 1.81 (-125) [2 Units]

Bayern has the knockout round pretty much solved, and with key injuries such as Ribery, Toni, Borowski, Altintop we will see some rotation and players as Butt, Sosa, Podolski, Breno, Ottl in the starting 11. Despite this, Bayern is way stronger than Sporting CP and will get the win. The replacements will try to give a nice impression to Klinsmann and on the other hand Sporting will concentrate on finishing strong on the Portuguese Liga, in order to qualify for next year's UCL.

Best of luck!

February 25th - Champions League

Nicely done yesterday on Arsenal-Roma total ($$$) and the lean on Lyon. February record goes to 7W-5L-3P for a profit of 4.1 units.

Back to business now cause there are more exciting games today!

Real Madrid -½ @ 2.12 (+112) [2 UNITS]

This game couldn't have been in a better time for RM and in a worst time for Liverpool. RM is the hottest team in Spain with 9 straight wins (yes, even hotter than all mighty Barcelona) and Liverpool is really struggling on and off the field; they're 7 points behind Man U in the Premier League, they are in a cold streak with really poor results, Benitez just rejected another contract extension and word is he'll leave at the end of the season, Gerrard has been injured and even though he might play tonight, his fitness won't be great.
Being that said, Liverpool and Benitez are one of the best formulas in knockout rounds during the last decade and Real Madrid has struggled really bad at this stage (since 2003-2004 haven't advanced).
Two great tacticians face off tonight at Santiago Bernabeu's pitch, but I lean for the home side. Home crowd and way better late form will prevail in today's match and the magic European nights will go back to Madrid.

HALA MADRID!

February 24th - Champions League

The excitement of UEFA Champions League is back and there are wonderful matches to watch.

Arsenal-Roma UNDER 2½ @ 1.65 (-155) [2 UNITS]

We're in the last 16 stage and matches will be closer. Arsenal is playing really good defensively, but they're just having serious problems scoring. Adebayor, Eduardo, Fabregas, Walcott are out due to injuries and Arshavin is cup tied. These issues leaves Van Persie and Bendtner by themselves up front with Carlos Vela as the other option in attack.
AS Roma has made an incredible recovery from their poor early season and now they're almost back in top 4 in Serie A. For this game Juan is their only injury. Knowing the Italian style of play (catenaccio) and how hard has been for Arsenal to score goals the under is a really good play in this game. Roma will take and 0-1 loss and will be extremely happy with a 0-0 draw. No more than 2 goals in this game for sure.

I have small leans on draw in Arsenal-Roma and Lyon +½ too. But no official play on it.

Good luck!

Soccer Picks February 21st

Back to domestic duties.

Arsenal-Sunderland UNDER 2½ @ 1.87 (-115) [2 UNITS]

A strong Arsenal team faces Sunderland in Emirates Stadium in London. After 3 draws in a row Arsenal needs a win to get back on track. Usually we see plenty of goals in these matches, but Arsenal has kept clean sheets in 4 of their last 5 and Sunderland in 3 out of their last 5. Arsenal might win, but will not trash Sunderland.

Inter Milan to win @ 2.00 (Even) [2 UNITS]

Opposite sides clash in an early match in Serie A. Inter will dress a class A team and visit Bologna, a team that since former Inter player Mijhailovic is coaching them, has changed for better and now it is a really difficult team, especially at home. Inter will outclass Bologna, and will try to put more pressure on Juventus and AC Milan. Adriano back on track and a high morale victory in Milan's derby makes Inter, at these odds, a great pick.

Barcelona -1½ @ 1.77 (-130) [2 UNITS]

The last time Barcelona beat Espanyol for Liga competition at home was back in 2006. In 2007 Espanyol scored late at Camp Nou and handed the Liga to Real Madrid that scored at the same moment in Zaragoza. This year the Catalan Derby has a different and strange situation. Barcelona is on top and Espanyol is at the very bottom. After dropping 2 points in Sevilla last week, Barcelona will get back on track this weekend and will take advantage of a really poor Espanyol side. The "Pericos" won't be a big obstacle on Barcelona's road.

Real Madrid-Betis UNDER 3 @ 1.67 (-150) [2 UNITS]

Real Madrid's impressive run continues tonight at Santiago Bernabeu, facing a Betis' team that stopped the all mighty Barcelona. RM has won 8 straight and are 10 points behind Barça now. Real Madrid will save Raul and Robben tonight due to the Champions League match against Liverpool next midweek, a really important match because RM hasn't been able to pass the round of 16 since the last time they won it, back in 2002. Close match where a goal, if any, might decide the game.

[February record: 4W-3L-3P for a profit of 2.1 units]

UEFA Cup Picks - Feb 18th

European competitions are back this week and we have a few interesting picks for the 1st legs of the round of 32.

Olympiacos Piraeus -1 @ 2.04 (+104) [2 UNITS]

Greece Champions will square off against a young team from France which is battling the relegation zone as both will try to reach the Best of 16.
Olympiacos has been a really strong team at home and a really poor team away, therefore they'll try to solve the series now, at home and with their crowd. Olympiacos has no significant injuries and will dress their top lineup.
St. Etienne on the other hand will miss 2 key midfielders, Perrin and Landrin, both really experienced and quality players. They have a key matchup on the weekend against Bordeux and might save their strongest team for that match.

Hamburger SV -½ @ 2.02 (+102) [1 unit]

Hamburger playing at top level in the Bundesliga while their hosts, NEC struggling in their domestic league after an impressive 1st half of the season. The most important thing in this game, despite the form both teams, is the amount of key injuries NEC has. Tim Jansen, Dennis Rommendhal, Rachid Bouaouzan and Dani Fernandez; these 4 players are vital for their side and therefore Hamburger could take advantage from their rival's woes plus the quality and class they have and pull up the win in Holland.

Aston Villa -½ @ 2.02 (+102) [1 unit]

Aston Villa has had an impressive performance in Premier League and they want to reflect their local success into the international competition.
Despite having a couple injuries in Emile Heskey, Sidwell and Laursen, they'll recover Gareth Barry and Curtis Davies. Villa's team has been just awesome this season, making all the best teams in England struggle and will face a CSKA team that hasn't played a competitive match since December 4th and definitely this can't help Zico's side at all. Having 2 suspended players and their inactivity will play against CSKA. Villa need the win as the 2nd leg will be in the cold Moscow in a frozen pitch and they don't want to head over there in disadvantage.

English Premier League Bonus Pick!

Manchester United -1½ @ 1.77 (-130) [2 UNITS]

2 very opposite sides clash tonight at Old Trafford. ManU have dropped points just once at home this season, and it was at their home debut in a 1-1 draw against Newcastle. Since then many things have changed and ManU haven't allowed any goals in their last 12 EPL matches played! This is just incredible! With FA cup and Champions League duties restarting next week, the Red Devils will try to win this one and take a 7 point lead over Liverpool. Fulham on the other hand have a terrible away record and have a couple of key players doubtful for this game and depend on late fitness tests: Andrew Johnson and Paul Konchesky; Dickson Etuhu is out too. They can also rest a couple of players here.

Good luck!

[February record stands at 2W-1L-3P for a 1.9 profit]

NBA Picks - February 11th

Rough day yesterday with the Nets, Heat and T'wolves blowing the lead (or at least covering the spread) in the 4th Quarter....ohhh and Lakers cracking under pressure during the last minute, and issuing another loss in the day. So instead of a 4-3, 3-4 in worst case scenario; ended up in a 2-5 day.
Updated record goes to 41W-33L-1P for 4.7 profit.

Let's get back on track today :)

Orlando Magic -7½

Charlotte Bobcats -8

Houston Rockets -12

New Orleans Hornets +7½

Best of luck!

Soccer International Friendlies

A lot of international friendlies and some World Cup Qualifiers today, so the world is spinning today at soccer rhythm. Let's see some picks we have for today:

Egypt -½ @ 1.90 (-111)
Home team playing at Cairo Stadium is really tough. This will be their last friendly match before the WC Qualifiers begin, and Ghana is the strongest opponent they have faced. Last time they played, Egypt defeated Ghana in Accra. Egypt will play full strength, including their key player Zidan, Ghana has a really good team, full of internationals but is missing the well known superstar Chelsea's Michael Essien, due to injury.

Morocco PK @ 2.05 (+105)
In preparation for WC Qualifiers, Morocco hosts Czech Republic in Casablanca. The Czechs will be missing well known players Rosicky and Petr Cech due to injury. On the Atlas Lions' side, coach Roger Lemerre called a team full of players playing in Europe. The odds are drifting, so hurry up and get the best price on the Moroccans.

Denmark PK @ 2.35 (+135)
Both, Denmark and Greece shook the world when they won the Euro, the Dannish in 1992 and more recentrly the Greeks in 2004. Now they both are leading their groups on WC Qualifiers. For this at Piraeus Greece is without Amanaditis, Ninis and Koutsianikoulis; 3 rising stars. Denmark called Serie A sensation Simon Kjaer due to Aston Villa's back Laursen retirement from international football. Recent form shows that both teams have had positive results, especially Denmark beating Portugal in Portugal and Greece pulling a draw against the World Champions Italy. Close game where the visitors have a great chance to pull up a win.

Argentina-France Under 2 @ 2.00 (EV)
Argentina under one of the all-time greats is playing France at Stade Velodrome in Marseille. Domenech is under a lot of pressure due to the poor performance at the last Euro and their position at the WC Qualifiers, where they are sitting 5 points off the pace in Group 7. Argentina is walking calm through the CONMEBOL Qualifiers and they are 3rd at the moment, behind Paraguay and Brazil.
France is at full strenght and according to Domenech's style, probably will form tith only 1 forward (Benzema) while Ribery and Henry will appear as wingers. Argentina dropped Coloccini, Villagra, Sosa and more important Riquelme from the match in Glasgow. Still, the always dangerous Messi will form up front with Tevez and the midfield will be guarded by Gago and Mascherano.
Tight match where Maradona is still finding is perfect 11, and Domenech trying to find their own identity. Low scoring match.

So far this is it for soccer...best of luck!
